Please read through all of the information below if you are seeking massage therapy benefits through insurance.

One Hour Massage Option
No-fault and Worker's Compensation sessions are 45 minutes. You may opt to schedule a 60 minute massage for an additional fee of $25.40 per session. Adding this time can be very beneficial to having a massage the way it was meant to be, a holistic form of health care, meaning it treats the whole self. A 60 minute massage can be structured with a combination of traditional and medical massage that approaches medicine holistically. That is what we do best. There is a lot of stress involved in being in an auto accident or having a work-related injury. Combining technique with the intent to de-stress, detoxify and address the secondary issues of an injury can accelerate healing and increase energy and overall health. Although grateful for the benefits they presently provide, we hope insurance companies will someday provide full benefits for their insureds when they really need it. At this time, they cover 45 minutes treating the area of the injury.

No-Fault and Worker’s Compensation
Body Central accepts No-Fault and Worker’s Compensation Insurance. There are a few steps in this process to allow it to go smoothly.

Step 1: Prescription. You will require a written prescription for massage therapy from your physician, specialist or Chiropractor indicating the diagnosis, frequency, and duration of treatment. ( ie: lumbar/cervial strain, massage therapy, 2 times a week for 12 weeks. )

Step 2: Your information. We need your name, address and phone numbers. We’ll need the name, address and phone number of your insurance company, claim number, claim representative name and direct extension, date of accident and policy/group number.

Step 3: Pre-authorization. As soon as you give us this information, Body Central will do the leg work from there. We will contact your insurance company for pre-authorization. This usually only takes a day or two.

Step 4: Schedule appointments. We prefer to schedule all appointments in advance. We understand that once in a while you made need to re-schedule. It is important to tell us if you are also receiving physical therapy or chiropractic care. Your insurance will not cover massage therapy on the same day as these treatments. Each massage treatment is 45 minutes. It is important that you be on time and attend all of your prescribed appointments. You may require additional treatments beyond the original script in order to acheive maximum medical improvement with massage therapy. Your insurance will take your appointment history into consideration when determining medical necessity for additional benfits. If you are not consistent with your treatments, it may be safe to assume that you do not require anymore.

Step 5: Payment. Body Central will do all of the billing for you. No payment is required at the time of treatment until your insurance determines that you have reached maximum medical improvement and no further benefits for massage therapy are available.

Major Medical and Flex Accounts
Please check with your insurance to see if they cover massage therapy or acupuncture. We will provide an acceptable receipt and any documentation your insurance requires for you to be reimbursed. If your company has a flex account available, massage and acupuncture are covered for reimbursement. We will give you everything you need. Please call with any questions you may have. If your major medical insurance covers massage therapy or acupuncture, please let us know so that we may inquire about becoming a provider if we are not already.
